Last week I visited the Pentagon for the first time in a long time. While there, I got to see LTG John Morrison. God connected me to this man 30 years ago. Over the past 30 years, I can point to several critical moments in my life where God used LTG Morrison to mentor me through key decisions. Without his mentorship, I most certainly would not be the man I am today.

As a King Solomon was a sovereign and supreme ruler, he had no checks or balances, and his word was always the final word.

(Prov 28:12 NLT) When the godly succeed, everyone is glad. When the wicked take charge, people go into hiding. This morning we continue our “Unlocking the Power of Proverbs – Walking in the Wisdom of God” series. Solomon here speaks to the reaction other people have to our success. What do you want that reaction to be? For example, this week my promotion board met and the decision was made on whether or not I will get promoted to Chief Warrant Officer Five.

(Prov 28:2 MSG) When the country is in chaos, everybody has a plan to fix it—But it takes a leader of real understanding to straighten things out.

(Prov 27:25-27 GNB) You cut the hay and then cut the grass on the hillsides while the next crop of hay is growing. You can make clothes from the wool of your sheep and buy land with the money you get from selling some of your goats. The rest of the goats will provide milk for you and your family, and for your servant women as well.

(Prov 27:23,24 GNB) Look after your sheep and cattle as carefully as you can, because wealth is not permanent. Not even nations last forever.

This morning we get back to our “Unlocking the Power of Proverbs – Walking in the Wisdom of God” series. I trust you enjoyed out break last week for Passion Week and that you also enjoyed your Resurrection Sunday celebration. I will never cease to give God praise for what Jesus did for me. My salvation is the most precious gift I have ever received. Okay, that’s enough. If I get to sharing about Jesus I won’t address this proverb. So let’s get to it.
