Laying The Foundation for 2026 (Part 8): Discovering Your Preordained Purpose

Today, we continue our focus on “THE YEAR OF DISCOVERY.” In 2026, we are embarking on a journey of growing in grace and in the knowledge of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
Key scriptures for this year:
(2 Peter 3:18 GNT)
“But continue to grow in the grace and in the knowledge of our Savior, Jesus Christ. To Him be glory now and forever.”
(Luke 10:20 Mirror)
“It’s time for you to rediscover who you are from Heaven’s perspective.”
(1 John 3:10 Mirror)
“There is a very visible and vast difference between living one’s life from your God identity or from a fallen mindset.”
(Proverbs 25:2 NLT)
“It is God’s privilege to conceal things and the king’s privilege to discover them.”
(Jeremiah 29:13 NIV)
“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”
Scripture we will study today:
(Jeremiah 1:5 NKJV)
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”
(Jeremiah 1:5 NLT)
“I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.”
(Ephesians 2:10 ERV)
“God has made us what we are. In Christ Jesus, God made us new people so that we would spend our lives doing the good things he had already planned for us to do.”
(Ephesians 2:10 NLT)
“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”
Setting the Stage:
As we lay the foundation for this year, we move from discovering our identity to discovering our purpose. In the Kingdom of God, these two are inseparable. Once you discover who you are (your identity), the next discovery is why you are here (your purpose).
God did not create you just to exist; He created you as a solution to a problem and a manifestation of His glory on the earth. This year, the Holy Spirit wants to reveal the plans He had for you before the world began.
Jeremiah was told that before he was even formed in his mother’s womb, God had already “ordained” and “appointed” a specific assignment for him. Paul told the Ephesians that we are God’s “masterpiece” and that our destiny was planned long ago.
If you are going to maximize 2026, you must realize that you are not an accident. You are a divine project with a specific set of deliverables. You are on assignment. You were born at this time, in this generation, with your unique personality and gifts, because there is something only you can do in the way God wants it done. Discovery in 2026 is about uncovering the “good things” that were prepared for you before time began.
So, what does this mean for you today? A few things.
1. Your Purpose Predates Your Presence on the Earth.
God is a divine architect who devised, not only a master plan for this world, but a master plan for YOU. God finished the plans before He ever started the work. He never starts a project without a finished blueprint. Before you showed up in time, the plans for you were already completed in eternity. Your journey in 2026 is not about trying to “be someone” but about discovering the “someone” God already planned.
How this applies to you:
— You were a thought in God’s mind before you were a seed in your father’s body. Your origin is in eternity, and your arrival on this planet was scheduled for a purpose. You were born for such a time as this. You were born when you were born and where you were born because of why you were born.
— Discovery means looking back at the plans God had for your parents even met each other. You have an eternal purpose, sent to the earth with a divine assignment, at just the right time.
— If God planned your destiny in advance (which He did), then His nature dictates that He has already provided the grace for every step of that destiny. The equipment is already in the package! Everything you need to accomplish what you were born to do is already in you. It’s a matter of discovery, and then tapping into the grace to experience enablement.
— You don’t have to stress about “making something of yourself.” Your only job is to find, follow, and finish what is already written in your book in heaven.
— When you understand that your purpose predates you, it removes the pressure of performance. You aren’t trying to impress God. He was already impressed with you before you were born. What you are trying to do is align with God.
— Jeremiah’s assignment as a “prophet to the nations” was already settled before he was a fetus. Your 2026 assignment is already settled right now; you just need to discover it. Once you do, you will be positioned to use your faith to tap into God’s grace to accomplish what God revealed. When you understand this, you realize that faith is not about God giving you what you want. Faith is actually about aligning with what God wants for you.
— Get ready to launch into 2026 on a path of discovering what God has already planned for you in this season.
2. You Are God’s Masterpiece, Designed for Specific Good Works.
Ephesians 2:10 says we are His “masterpiece” or “workmanship.” This suggests that your life is a work of art intended to communicate something about the Artist. You aren’t just here to pay bills, party, and die; you are here to fulfill a destiny that was tailor-made for you.
How this applies to you:
— You are not a mass-produced product; you are a custom-made masterpiece. No one else can run your race because no one else was given your specific design.
— The “good things” God planned for you are not random acts of kindness; they are strategic assignments that advance God’s Kingdom.
— In 2026, your success is not measured by how you compare to others, but by how much you manifest the masterpiece God created you to be.
— God’s “advance planning” means that every resource, relationship, and revelation you need for 2026 has already been pre-positioned for you. The key is walking with God by faith. As you literally walk with God through 2026, spending time with the Holy Spirit, and meditating on God’s Word, the Holy Spirit will reveal to you what you need when you need it. He will bring you into the presence of the right people, and things will be revealed and released to you so that you can experience God’s best.
— You are “joined to Jesus” for the purpose of fulfilling this destiny. Without Him, you can do nothing, but in Him, your destiny is inevitable. In other words, if you try to do life on your own as a mere human, you may have grand desires, but you will be limited to your humanity. On the other hand, if you die to self, yield to Him, and open your heart to God’s plans, then you muster up the faith to actually believe what He says and launch out to accomplish them by God’s grace; then nothing can stop you because at that point stopping you would mean stopping God, and God cannot be stopped.
— Take time this year to ask the Holy Spirit to show you the “good things” on His 2026 calendar for you. He is the Divine Architect who knows the plans. He reveals them to through the Holy Spirit.
3. Discovery Changes Your Perspective From “Career” to “Calling.”
Most people pursue a career based on what they think will provide for them. But as a citizen of the Kingdom, you pursue a calling based on what God has prepared for you. A career is what you are paid for; a calling is what you were made for.
How this applies to you:
— In this Year of Discovery, God wants to move you from just “working a job” to fulfilling a mission. Your work should be an extension of your worship.
— When you discover your calling, you stop competing for a position and start resting in your assignment. There is no competition in your divine calling!
— Your calling provides a “divine flow” of grace. When you are doing what you were born to do, you experience supernatural energy and joy that others don’t understand.
— Discovery allows you to say “no” to good things so you can say “yes” to God things. Your calling gives you the focus you need to maximize your time in 2026.
— Proverbs 29:18 teaches us that people with no redemptive revelation cast off restraint. In other words, people who have no vision try just about everything because they don’t know what they’re called to do. But vision constrains us. When you know what you’re called to do, you don’t try everything. You limit your time, energy, and focus to the things that you believe have eternal value.
— Calling is about impact, not just income. In 2026, seek to discover how your life can be a blessing to the nations, just like Jeremiah. Another thing you will discover is that while you’re not focused on money, and instead you’re focused on purpose, God’s provision is already tied to His purpose. That means that when you’re doing what God called you to do, everything that you need is already stored up for it. God is fully responsible for the logistics required to accomplish his divine assignment. If it’s God’s will, it’s God’s bill!
4. The Revelation of Purpose Provides the Power to Persevere.
Discovery isn’t just for information; it’s for fortitude. When you know what you are born for, you can handle the “hell” that comes against it. Purpose gives you the “why” that allows you to survive any “how.”
How this applies to you:
— When Jeremiah discovered his purpose, it gave him the strength to stand against kings and nations. Purpose-driven discovery makes you bold and confident.
— Your 2026 destiny will face opposition, but that opposition is a sign that your discovery is dangerous to the kingdom of darkness.
— If you are being attacked, it is evidence that your assignment is significant. Remember, the greater the assignment, the greater the attack. If you’re not ever being attacked, then you have to question whether or not you’re doing anything of eternal value.
— In the Year of Discovery, you are not just finding a plan; you’re finding authority. You have the right to expect God to back up what He called you to do.
— Understanding your “preordained” path allows you to walk through challenges with a praise on your lips, knowing that the end of the matter is victory. Come hell or high water, what God said is still going to come to pass.
— When you know who you are, and you know what you’re called to do, and you are fully persuaded of the end of a thing, then it really doesn’t matter how much opposition you have to face along the way. The devil can do all he can to try to get you frustrated to the point where you give up. But once again, if you really are fully persuaded, then you won’t give up. Because at that point, your confidence is in God and his power and his plans and what he said and what he revealed, and not about you or your effort or your grit or your determination. No matter how disciplined or determined you think you are, humanity has its limits. But when you are fully persuaded of something that God said, then His limitless power will continually empower you to do what you could never do without him.
— Enter into this day and this year knowing you are called by God, you are empowered by His grace. Some devices are designed to run on battery-power, you are designed to run on grace-power.
That’s enough for today.
Declaration of Faith:
Father, I thank You that I am a divine project, born for such a time as this, with a purpose that predates my arrival on earth!
I am Your custom-made masterpiece, designed for strategic good works that were prepared for me before I was born!
I choose to die to self and yield to Your plans, knowing that being joined to Jesus makes my destiny inevitable!
I declare that Your provision is tied to Your purpose; since I am doing Your will, I know it is Your bill, and IT’S ALREADY DONE!
I am constrained by divine vision, focusing my time, energy, and resources only on the things that have eternal value!
I walk with confidence, authority, and fortitude, knowing that any opposition I face is simply proof of the significance of my assignment!
I am fully persuaded of Your plans, so I walk with a praise on my lips, running on grace-power rather than human effort!
I am living the Grace Life in my Year of Discovery, I am walking in my preordained purpose, and GREATER IS COMING FOR ME!
I declare this by faith. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
This is Today’s Word. Apply it and prosper!
