Laying The Foundation for 2026 (Part 12): Discovering What You Are Authorized To Do

Today, we continue our focus on “THE YEAR OF DISCOVERY,” and we are embarking on a journey of growing in grace and in the knowledge of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
Key scriptures for this year:
(2 Peter 3:18 GNT)
“But continue to grow in the grace and in the knowledge of our Savior, Jesus Christ. To Him be glory now and forever.”
(Luke 10:20 Mirror)
“It’s time for you to rediscover who you are from Heaven’s perspective.”
(1 John 3:10 Mirror)
“There is a very visible and vast difference between living one’s life from your God identity or from a fallen man’s mindset.”
(Proverbs 25:2 NKJV)
“It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, but the glory of kings is to search out a matter.”
(Jeremiah 29:13 NIV)
“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”
Scripture(s) we will study today:
(1 John 5:14-15 TPT)
“Since we have this confidence, we can also have these assurances: whenever we ask anything that aligns with his strategy, we know he is listening. And since we know he listens to us, we know he has answered our requests even before we see the answer.”
(John 5:19 ERV)
“I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing alone. He does only what he sees the Father doing. The Son does whatever the Father does.”
Setting the Stage:
In our last message, we talked about how God watches over His Word to perform it. We learned that we must recalibrate our hearts to trust His integrity. Today, we take this a step further by understanding that faith isn’t just “wishing” for something to happen; faith is a response to what you have discovered in God.
I often say that “Revelation is the Authorization for your Faith.” If God hasn’t revealed it, you’re just “trying” to believe. But when you discover what God has already decreed, your faith has the legal authorization to lay hold of it. Jesus lived this way, only doing what He SAW the Father doing. This year, your discovery is the very foundation upon which your faith will stand.
So, what does this mean for you today? A few things.
1. Revelation Is the Legal Authorization for Your Faith.
Faith is not an independent act; it is a response to God’s grace. There can be no faith where there is no grace. In the Year of Discovery, God is revealing His plans to you so that your faith has a target. In other words, so that your faith will be tied to something God said (in His Word) or revealed (by His Spirit). Without revelation, you are shooting in the dark. But when God speaks a Word or gives you a vision, that discovery becomes the permit or the authorization for you to believe and expect it to manifest.
(1 John 5:14-15 TPT)
“Since we have this confidence, we can also have these assurances: whenever we ask anything that aligns with his strategy, we know he is listening. And since we know he listens to us, we know he has answered our requests even before we see the answer.”
How this applies to you:
— You don’t have to wonder if God wants to bless you; you must discover the specific way He has planned to do it.
— Revelation takes the “guesswork” out of your walk with God and replaces it with divine certainty. Faith, by definition (from Hebrews 11:1), is about being sure and certain that God will do what He said (or revealed) that He will do. The point of today’s message is that it is hard to be sure or certain when you don’t have a WORD or a REVELATION from God.
— Your faith is only as strong as your discovery; once you see it in the Spirit, you have the authorization to believe it, receive it, and launch out to receive it.
— Stop trying to force God to do what YOU want and start discovering what He has already done.
— When you have a revelation, you have the legal right in the Spirit to stand your ground against all opposition.
— Revelation is the “green light” from Heaven that tells your faith it is time to move.
— If you feel stuck, spend more time seeking discovery, because once the revelation comes, the authorization for your breakthrough is in your hands.
2. Learning to Function Like Jesus by “Seeing” Before You Do.
Jesus said He could do nothing alone; He only did what He SAW the Father doing. This is the ultimate “Year of Discovery” lifestyle. Jesus didn’t wake up wondering what to do; He lived in a state of continuous discovery of the Father’s will. When you discover what God is doing, your actions are no longer based on human effort, but on divine alignment.
(John 5:19 ERV)
“I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing alone. He does only what he sees the Father doing. The Son does whatever the Father does.”
How this applies to you:
— Discovery is a spiritual “sight” that allows you to see the unseen reality of God’s Kingdom.
— Like Jesus, you are called to be a mirror of the Father’s work here on the earth. To be clearer: the Father does not REVEAL everything to you that He is doing on the earth. But what He does reveal are the things that are connected to your purpose. He reveals them to you, so you can get involved in doing what you were born to do. In this way, God’s revelation becomes not just the authorization for your faith. But His revelation becomes an invitation for participation!
— Before you make a major move in 2026, ask the Holy Spirit to let you “see” what the Father is doing in that situation where you are concerned, so you can know what your part is.
— Working without discovery is called “toil” (because it is based on human effort), but working from discovery is called “grace” (because it is ALL ABOUT HIM).
— Your productivity will increase exponentially when you stop guessing and start operating from revelation.
— God is always working; your job in this season is to discover His activity and join Him in it.
— When you “see” it first in your spirit, the power to perform it in the natural is already present. I have told you before that God’s instruction is always equal to His injection. God will never instruct you to do something He has not already injected you with. That’s grace!
3. The Confidence of Asking According to the Heavenly Strategy.
1 John 5:14 tells us that we have confidence when we ask according to His “strategy” (will). Discovery is the process of finding that strategy! When you pray for what you have discovered, you are not trying to convince God; you are agreeing with Him. This is why you can have the assurance that the answer is ALREADY DONE even before you see it.
How this applies to you:
— Real confidence is not based on your ability to pray, but on your discovery of God’s strategy.
— When you pray the revelation, you are praying Heaven’s own language back to the Father. You are praying back to God, the prayers He has prayed over you!
— Discovery gives you the “assurance” that God is listening, because He always recognizes His own Word. And we learned yesterday that God watches over His Word to perform it (Jer 1:12).
— You can stop praying “if it be thy will” prayers once you have discovered what His will is!
— Faith accesses what grace has already provided, but discovery is what tells you what is available. Which is why learning to spend time with God and discover what He planned is so critical.
— Knowing the strategy allows you to remain peaceful and patient while the manifestation is manifesting. Resting in what God said gives you JOY and PEACE in believing (Rom 15:13) while you are waiting on God to do what He revealed.
— In this Year of Discovery, your prayer life should shift from “asking for permission” to “acting on authorization.” Revelation tells you what you are authorized to do!
4. Establishing Your Faith on the Foundation of Spiritual Discovery.
If your faith is built on emotions or the words of others, it will crumble when the storms of life come. But when your faith is built on a foundation of personal discovery, it is unshakeable. God wants you to “search out the matter” like a king. Once you find it, you have found the foundation for your future.
How this applies to you:
— Don’t build your 2026 on a “good idea“; build it on a God-revelation you’ve discovered for yourself through the Holy Spirit.
— Personal spiritual discovery provides the fortitude and perseverance you need to outlast every attack of the enemy. This strength does not come from you; it comes from God. So, another way to say this is: when you know what God wants you to do, you also know you have the grace to endure all you must endure so that it comes to pass in your life!
— Once you discover your God-identity, the opinions of man no longer have the power to define you. And once you discover your God-given purpose, you will no longer feel jealous of the lives or callings of others, because you will be too busy focused on doing what you are called to do. You will hear me bring up identity and purpose over and over throughout the year.
— Commit today to being a “seeker” who spends time with God and who refuses to stop until the revelation of your identity and purpose are clear!
That’s enough for today.
Declaration of Faith:
Father, I thank You that Revelation is the Authorization for my Faith!
I declare that I am not walking in the dark, but I am walking in the light of Your revelation daily.
I refuse to guess my way through 2026; I seek You, and I discover Your strategy for my life.
Like Jesus, I purpose to only do what I SEE You doing, and I only say what I HEAR You saying.
I have confidence today because I am asking according to Your strategy, and I know You hear me!
I receive the assurance that my requests are answered even before I see them with my natural eyes.
I am Living the Grace Life, I am authorized by revelation, and GREATER IS COMING FOR ME!
I declare this by faith. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
This is Today’s Word. Apply it and prosper!
