Today, we continue our series entitled “Living the Grace Life,” where we will learn to embrace and walk in God’s unmerited, unearned, and often undeserved favor throughout 2025.

As part of this series, I am teaching a verse-by-verse exposition of the book of Galatians.

Key scriptures for this year:

(2 Corinthians 9:8 TPT)

"Yes, God is more than ready to overwhelm you with every form of grace, so that you will have more than enough of everything—every moment and in every way. He will make you overflow with abundance in every good thing you do."

(Galatians 5:4 TPT)

"If you want to be made right with God by fulfilling the obligations of the law, you have cut off more than your flesh—you have cut yourselves off from Christ and have fallen away from the revelation of grace!"

(Romans 6:14 ERV)

"Sin will not be your master, because you are not under law. You now live under God's grace."

(1 Corinthians 15:10 CEV)

"But God treated me with undeserved grace! He made me what I am, and his grace wasn't wasted. I worked much harder than any of the other apostles, although it was really God's grace at work and not me."

Scripture we will study today:

(Galatians 3:18 TPT)

“For if our inheritance of the promises of God depends upon the keeping of the Law, it wouldn’t be the result of God’s promise to us. But God surely did give it to Abraham and to us through the promise!”

Supporting scriptures:

(Matthew 11:28-30 TPT)

“Are you weary, carrying a heavy burden? Then come to me. I will refresh your life, for I am your oasis. Simply join your life with mine. Learn my ways and you’ll discover that I’m gentle, humble, easy to please. You will find refreshment and rest in me. For all that I require of you will be pleasant and easy to bear.”

(Hebrews 4:3 TPT)

“And yet we believers who cling in faith enter into the realm of resting in our faith. And we all know that God’s creative work was finished from the foundation of the world.”

(Hebrews 4:9-11 TPT)

“So we conclude that there is still a full and complete ‘rest’ waiting for believers to experience. As we enter into God’s faith-rest life we cease from our own works, just as God celebrates his finished works and rests in them. So then we must give our all and be eager to experience this faith-rest life, so that no one falls short by following the same pattern of doubt and unbelief.”

(Psalm 46:10 NIV)

“He says, ‘Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.'”

(Isaiah 30:15 NIV)

“This is what the Sovereign LORD, the Holy One of Israel, says: ‘In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength, but you would have none of it.'”

(Philippians 4:6-7 TPT)

“Don’t be pulled in different directions or worried about a thing. Be saturated in prayer throughout each day, offering your faith-filled requests before God with overflowing gratitude. Tell him every detail of your life, then God’s wonderful peace that transcends human understanding, will make the answers known to you through Jesus Christ.”

Setting the Stage:

We’re continuing our study of Galatians 3:18, and today I want to share something that powerfully connects to what Paul is teaching about promise-based living versus law-based living. This message was inspired by a powerful teaching from Dr. David Yonggi Cho, the late founder of the world’s largest church in Seoul, South Korea. Dr. Cho understood something that many believers miss: rest is not passivity; rest is faith in action!

Think about what we’ve been learning. Under the Law, you’re constantly striving, performing, and working to earn God’s favor. But under the promise, you’re resting in what God already did! This is HUGE! When God says, “Just relax, everything will come to you,” or, “Just relax, and I will tell you when you need to do something,” He’s not telling you to be lazy. He’s commanding you to trust His promise instead of trusting your performance!

Here’s what I’ve discovered: the greatest act of faith is not in doing more. It’s in resting while you wait for God to move! Many people misunderstand this. They think peace is the result of everything going right. But Dr. Cho said, “Peace is what God gives BEFORE everything goes right!” When you learn to relax in God, you learn to live in the rhythm of divine timing. You stop chasing. You stop forcing. And you start allowing, being sensitive to the divine promptings of the Holy Spirit, knowing that whatever belongs to you cannot miss you!

This is what it means to live under grace! You’re not striving to make things happen. You’re resting in what God already promised! And here’s the powerful part: living this way, anxiety slows down, and peace accelerates!

So, what does this mean for you today? A few things.

1. Rest Is Not Passivity; It’s the Highest Form of Faith.

When God commands you to rest, He’s not asking you to do nothing. He’s asking you to stop trusting in your own efforts and start trusting in His promise! This is the difference between Law-based striving and grace-based living!

How this applies to you:

— Under Law-based living, you think more effort equals more blessing. You believe that if you work harder, pray longer, give more, and serve better, THEN God will move on your behalf. But that’s performance-based thinking, and it keeps you in a constant state of stress! As I have shared with you over the last few days. When you live this way, you are always wondering, “Did I do enough?

— Grace-based living says, “God already did everything necessary through Christ! My job is not to earn it; my job is to receive it by faith!” And faith often looks like rest! When you can relax in the middle of uncertainty, heaven takes notice! Your rest is proof of your trust!

— Hebrews 4:9-11 says there’s a faith-rest life waiting for you! As you enter God’s rest, you cease from your own works, just as God rested from His! This doesn’t mean you become lazy; it means you stop striving and start flowing with what God is already doing!

— Think about Jesus in the boat during the storm. The disciples were panicking, but Jesus was sleeping! Why? Because He knew who His Father was! He wasn’t moved by the storm; He was resting in divine authority and His purpose! That’s the kind of faith God wants you to have; sleeping in the middle of the storm because you know God’s purpose for your life will prevail!

— Many believers wear themselves out trying to make things happen by their own strength. They think God is impressed by their exhaustion. But God is not looking for burnt-out believers; He’s looking for believers who trust Him enough to rest! Your rest tells God, “I believe You’re working even when I can’t see it!

— Isaiah 30:15 says, “In quietness and trust is your strength!” Not in hustle. Not in striving. Not in anxiety. Your strength comes from resting in God’s promise! When you quiet your heart and trust His Word, you tap into a power that exhaustion could never produce! That’s grace!

2. God Gives Peace BEFORE Everything Goes Right, Not After.

This is life-changing! Most people think they’ll have peace once their situation improves. But God’s way is the opposite. He gives you peace in the middle of the storm, and that peace becomes the foundation for your breakthrough!

How this applies to you:

— You don’t need to wait until your circumstances change to experience peace! Peace does come with the absence of opposition; it comes with the presence of God. Philippians 4:6-7 says that when you pray with thanksgiving instead of worry, God’s peace that surpasses understanding will guard your heart!

— Under the Law, you’re working FOR peace, working FOR blessing, working FOR breakthrough. But under grace, you’re already living FROM peace, FROM blessing, FROM breakthrough because it’s already done in Christ! You’re not trying to get to a place of rest; you’re already there!

— Jesus said in Matthew 11:28-30, “Come to me and I will refresh your life, for I am your oasis!” He didn’t say, “Work harder and eventually you’ll find rest.” He said, “Come to me, and I’ll give you rest RIGHT NOW!” Rest is not a destination; it’s a Person! When you’re connected to Jesus, you have access to rest regardless of your circumstances! Your internal state is not contingent upon external circumstances.

— The world says, “I’ll have peace when I get the job, when the bills are paid, when the relationship is fixed, when the diagnosis changes.” But God says, “I’m giving you peace right now, in the middle of it all, so you can stand strong while I work it out!”

This is why Paul could write letters about peace while he was in prison! He wasn’t waiting for his situation to change to experience peace; he had peace because of his relationship with God, not because of his circumstances! That’s the peace God wants you to walk in today!

— When you have God’s peace before the breakthrough comes, you’re living by faith! Faith says, “I can rest now because I know the end of the story!” You’re not anxious about the outcome because you trust the One who wrote (past tense) the script! This is what it means to be fully persuaded like Abraham!

— If you are watching a movie, but you already know the end, then you don’t get worried when a character is at the brink of death (if you already know how it is going to turn out). That’s a good picture of what it means to walk and live by faith! When you are fully persuaded by what God said or revealed, you are not moved by what you see with your natural eyes!

3. Your Anxiety Doesn’t Accelerate God’s Plan; Your Peace Attracts It.

When you’re anxious, you block the flow of God’s blessings. But when you’re at peace, you become a magnet for divine favor!

How this applies to you:

— Many people live anxious lives, not because God is late, but because they are early! They’re running ahead of God, trying to make things happen by their own understanding. And when it doesn’t work, they doubt His plan. But God is never late!

— Faith and rest are connected! You cannot have true faith while living in constant anxiety. Why? Because anxiety says, “I don’t trust God to come through,” but rest says, “I trust God completely, so I can be still!” The calm heart becomes a channel for divine manifestation!

— Think about it: have you ever noticed that the more you chase something, the further it seems to run away? That’s because desperation repels blessings, but peace attracts them! When your spirit is calm, it attracts divine favor because you are not in the way!

— Psalm 37:7 says, “Rest in the LORD and wait patiently for Him!” Waiting patiently doesn’t mean sitting around doing nothing. It means staying at peace while God arranges things behind the scenes! You’re not passively waiting; you’re actively trusting while God works!

— The moment you open your hands, the moment you release control, that is when He begins to fill them! Your peace creates space for God to move in ways your striving and stressing never could!

— Every time you panic, you step out of divine flow. Every time you relax, you return to it! This is what it means to live by divine rhythm; to trust that every delay, every detour, every closed door is part of the current (like a river) that is carrying you exactly where you need to be!

— Stop letting anxiety steal your peace! Your worry is not going to make things happen faster! In fact, it’s slowing down what God is trying to do! Choose peace today, and watch how that peace accelerates the manifestation of God’s promises in your life! This is #TheGraceLife!

4. When You Relax in God, You Move from Striving to Flowing.

There’s a river that flows gently. It doesn’t struggle to move forward. It simply follows the course carved for it. And yet, it reaches the ocean every time. The same is true for you! When you stop striving and start flowing with God’s direction, you will reach your destination!

How this applies to you:

— The world will tell you to keep grinding, keep hustling, keep pushing until something breaks. But God’s way is different! His blessings are not earned through exhaustion; they are received through alignment! When you make a human alignment with your divine assignment, everything flows to you, and you begin to flow into your destiny.

— Psalm 46:10 says, “Be still, and know that I am God!” This isn’t a suggestion; it’s a command! God is telling you to stop trying to be God in your own life! Stop trying to control everything! Stop trying to figure out every detail! Just be still and let Him be God! When you do, you’ll see Him move in ways you never imagined!

— Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding!” When you stop leaning on your own ability to figure everything out and start leaning into God’s wisdom, you move from struggle to rest! You’re not trying to force doors open; you’re walking through the ones God opens for you!

— Grace-based living says, “I’m already blessed because God promised it, so NOW I can work with joy and peace instead of pressure and anxiety!” You’re serving from a place of rest, not stress!

— When you relax in God, you’re not giving up; you’re positioning yourself to receive everything He’s been trying to give you! The promises are yours; now rest and let God bring them to pass!

That's enough for today.

Declaration of Faith:

Father, I thank You that rest is not weakness; it’s the highest form of faith!

I choose to trust Your promise instead of relying on my performance!

I receive Your peace BEFORE everything goes right, not after!

My anxiety doesn’t move You, but my trust does, so I choose peace today!

I am ceasing from my own works and entering Your faith-rest life!

I refuse to strive for what You’ve already provided through Your promise!

My peace attracts Your blessings, and I walk in divine alignment today!

What belongs to me cannot miss me, so I relax in Your perfect plan!

I am Living the Grace Life, and GREATER IS COMING FOR ME!

I declare this by faith. In Jesus’ name. Amen!

This is Today’s Word. Apply it and prosper!
