Grace in Galatians (Part 87): The Blessing That Was Always Meant for You
Today, we continue our series entitled “Living the Grace Life,” where we will learn to embrace and walk in God’s unmerited, unearned, and often undeserved favor throughout 2025.
As part of this series, I am teaching a verse-by-verse exposition of the book of Galatians.

“He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit.”

“Jesus, our Messiah, was cursed in our place and in so doing, dissolved the curse from our lives, so that all the blessings of Abraham can be poured out upon even non-Jewish believers. And now God gives us the promise of the wonderful Holy Spirit who lives within us when we believe in him.”

“I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. In Christ, God has given us every spiritual Blessing in heaven.”
Setting the Stage:
Yesterday, we explored “The Great Exchange,” how Jesus took your curse and gave you His Blessing. Today, Paul reveals the PURPOSE behind that exchange. Notice the phrase “in order that.” This shows divine intention! God wasn’t making this up as He went along. The cross wasn’t Plan B. From the beginning, God knew that He would bless Abraham and then bless you with the Blessing of Abraham through Jesus the Christ!
Think about this: Abraham received the Blessing 430 years BEFORE the law was given. The Blessing came by promise, not performance. It came by faith, not by following rules. And here’s what religion doesn’t want you to know: that same Blessing that made Abraham wealthy, healthy, and a blessing to nations is NOW YOURS through Christ!
But it gets even better. You didn’t just get Abraham’s Blessing; you got something Abraham could only dream about. Because of Jesus, you ALSO receive the Holy Spirit! You have God’s Spirit living INSIDE you! Abraham had God’s promise; you have God’s presence! Abraham had the Blessing ON him; you have the Blessing IN you!
So, what does this mean for you today? A few things.
1. The Blessing Was Always God’s Plan for You!
Paul says Jesus was cursed “in order that” the Blessing could come to you. This wasn’t an afterthought. Before you were born, before you sinned, before the foundation of the world, God planned for you to be BLESSED!
How this applies to you:
— The Blessing is God’s predetermined purpose for your life! Stop acting like you have to convince God to bless you. He already decided to bless you before time began. The Blessing is His idea, not yours!
— You did not receive THE Blessing as an accident or by happenstance. You are a planned recipient of THE Blessing from the foundation of the world! God didn’t stumble upon the idea of Blessing you. He architected the entire redemption plan with YOU in mind.
— Do you realize all that happened on the cross? The cross was designed to:
1) Redeem you from sin,
2) Deliver you from the bondage of the fear of death,
3) Provide you access to the Holy Spirit, so He can live IN you, and
4) Release The Blessing of Abraham (that had previously been limited to the Hebrews) upon everyone who believes!
That’s not just the Good News of the Gospel. That’s GREAT NEWS for us today!
— The Gentiles (non-Jews) were ALWAYS in God’s blessing plan! You weren’t an afterthought or a consolation prize. Genesis 12:3 promised that ALL peoples on earth would be blessed through Abraham. That includes YOU! God’s grace was always multi-cultural!
— Your Blessing doesn’t depend on your bloodline but on your faith line! You don’t need Jewish ancestry to access Jewish promises. Through faith in Christ, you’ve been grafted into the blessing lineage. Faith makes you family!
— God removed every obstacle between you and the Blessing! The curse was the only thing standing in your way, and Jesus absorbed it completely. There’s nothing left blocking your Blessing. The path is clear, the door is open, the Blessing is yours!
2. The Blessing Removes Every Barrier Between Nations and Ethnicities!
Paul emphasizes that the Blessing comes to “the Gentiles,” the non-Jewish nations. This wasn’t just about including a few outsiders; this was about demolishing the wall that separated humanity! The Blessing that was locked behind ethnic barriers is now universally accessible through Christ!
How this applies to you:
— Your ethnicity doesn’t determine your access to the Blessing! For 2,000 years, only Abraham’s physical descendants had covenant access. Now, whether you’re African, Asian, European, Latino, or any other ethnicity, you have EQUAL access to the FULL Blessing! Grace doesn’t check your genealogy!
— The Blessing speaks every language and honors every culture! It works in Tokyo just like it works in Tel Aviv. It works in Lagos like it works in London. The Blessing isn’t Western or Eastern; it’s Kingdom! And the Kingdom transcends all earthly boundaries!
— You don’t need to become Jewish to receive Jewish promises! Some believers think they need to adopt Jewish customs to access the Blessing. No! The Blessing comes to you right where you are, in your culture, in your context. God’s grace meets you in YOUR world!
— The dividing wall has been demolished forever! Ephesians 2:14 is powerful. Read it carefully:
“Christ is the reason we are now at peace. He made us Jews and you who are not Jews one people. We were separated by a wall of hate that stood between us. But Christ broke down that wall.”
(Ephesians 2:14 ERV)
I love it! CHRIST BROKE DOWN THAT WALL OF HATE! I wish I could say that 2,000 years later, racism is not an issue, but it is. However, it should not be for us! What separated Jews from Gentiles for centuries was eradicated on the cross. We are all ONE in Christ Jesus!
— The Blessing creates one new humanity! Later in this chapter, Paul says,
“And we no longer see each other in our former state—Jew or non-Jew, rich or poor, male or female—because we’re all one through our union with Jesus Christ with no distinction between us.”
(Galatians 3:28 TPT)
It doesn’t make Gentiles into Jews or Jews into Gentiles. It creates something NEW: ONE FAMILY UNDER GOD’S GRACE! Unity in diversity, not uniformity in conformity!
— Every promise made to Israel is now YES and AMEN to you in Christ! You’re not getting a watered-down version or consolation prize. You get the SAME promises, the SAME covenant benefits, the SAME inheritance!
— The Blessing breaks generational curses regardless of your ancestry! It doesn’t matter what curses run in your bloodline. You can come from a long line of poverty, addiction, divorce, or disease, but once The Blessing of Abraham is on you and the Blood of Jesus is covering you, you can break free from what kept your family bound. One Blessing can break a thousand curses!
3. The Promise of the Spirit Makes You a Mobile Throne Room!
Paul reveals the ultimate purpose: “so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit.” This isn’t just about having God’s presence visit you; this is about BECOMING God’s dwelling place! You’re not just blessed; you’re a blessing headquarters!
How this applies to you:
— Under the Old Covenant, the Holy Spirit lived in the temple, and people could only visit Him. Even then, only the High Priest could enter the Most Holy Place once a year! But now YOU are the temple of the Holy Spirit! You don’t make appointments to meet with God; you carry Him everywhere you go! What was once restricted to one room, one day, and one person is now available IN YOU 24/7/365!
— You carry the presence that Abraham only encountered! Abraham met with God at specific times and places. You CARRY God everywhere you go! The presence isn’t visiting you; it’s residing in you! You’re not looking for God; you’re bringing God!
— Your body is now what the temple used to be! The same Shekinah glory that filled Solomon’s temple fills YOU! 1 Corinthians 6:19 says your body is the temple. The difference? The old temple was a building people visited; you’re a temple that MOVES! Wherever you go becomes holy ground!
— The Spirit IN you attracts the Blessing like a magnet! The Blessing isn’t searching for you; it’s drawn to the Spirit within you! Like metal to a magnet, provision, favor, and opportunities are attracted to the presence you carry!
— You have something money can’t buy and religion can’t produce! The Pharisees had religion but no presence. The rich young ruler had wealth but no peace. You have THE HOLY SPIRIT! He is the ultimate treasure that makes everything else possible!
— The promise of the Spirit includes POWER, not just presence! Acts 1:8 says you receive POWER when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. The same power that created the universe lives in YOU!
— Wherever you are, heaven has an embassy. Your presence shifts atmospheres, changes outcomes, and releases Kingdom authority. You don’t need a title; you have the Spirit! What took a temple building to accomplish in the Old Testament, YOU accomplish simply by showing up!
4. You’re Not Just Blessed; You Are the Blessing God Promised!
God told Abraham that through him “all peoples on earth will be blessed” (Genesis 12:3). That wasn’t just about Abraham; it was about YOU! You’re not just receiving the Blessing; you’re the fulfillment of God’s promise to bless the nations!
How this applies to you:
— You’re the answer to someone’s prayers! Someone is crying out for help, and God is positioning you to be their answer. Your Blessing is someone else’s breakthrough! You’re not blessed for yourself alone; you’re blessed to be the solution!
— You carry solutions for problems that haven’t been invented yet! The Spirit in you has answers for tomorrow’s questions. You’re not just equipped for today; you’re pre-loaded with tomorrow’s breakthroughs. The Blessing makes you future-proof because God has already been to your future, and He lives in you!
— Nations are literally waiting for what you carry! The anointing on your life can change your family, community, city, state, nation, and other nations. You carry a Blessing that heals nations! But that Blessing will never be released UNTIL YOU BELIEVE!
— The Blessing on your life can impact governments! (And we need this right now, in the United States). Joseph’s Blessing impacted the government of Egypt. Daniel’s Blessing impacted the government of Babylon. David’s Blessing impacted the government of Israel. Your Blessing isn’t just personal; it has governmental implications! You’re called to influence systems, not just situations! Open your heart to THE BLESSING!

Declaration of Faith:
Father, I thank You that the Blessing was ALWAYS Your plan for me!
Before the foundation of the world, You planned for me to be blessed!
The cross wasn’t an accident. It was part of Your intentional design to bless me!
Every barrier between me and the Blessing has been removed by Jesus!
I have equal access to the FULL Blessing, regardless of my background!
The Blessing breaks every generational curse in my bloodline!
I am the temple of the Holy Spirit—He lives IN me 24/7/365!
I don’t have to visit You in a building. I CARRY Him everywhere I go!
Your Spirit in me attracts provision, favor, and opportunities like a magnet!
Wherever I go, heaven has an embassy because I am there. My presence shifts atmospheres!
I’m not just blessed; I AM the Blessing You have promised to the nations!
I carry solutions for problems that haven’t been invented yet!
I am Living the Grace Life and GREATER IS COMING FOR ME!
