Today, we continue our focus on THE YEAR OF DISCOVERY, as we learn to maintain our posture of faith after God has revealed His plans for our future.

As part of this series, I am teaching a verse-by-verse exposition of the book of Galatians.

Key scriptures for this year:

2 Peter 3:18 GNT“But continue to grow in the grace and in the knowledge of our Savior, Jesus Christ. To Him be glory now and forever.”

Luke 10:20 Mirror“It’s time for you to rediscover who you are from Heaven’s perspective.”

1 John 3:10 Mirror“There is a very visible and vast difference between living one’s life from your God identity or from a fallen man’s mindset.”

Proverbs 25:2 NKJV“It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, but the glory of kings is to search out a matter.”

Jeremiah 29:13 NIV“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”

Scripture we will study today:

Galatians 6:9 ERV“We must not get tired of doing good. We will receive our harvest of eternal life at the right time. We must not give up!”

Supporting scriptures:

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 NIV“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.”

Hebrews 10:36 NIV“You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.”

Revelation 1:8 NIV“‘I am the Alpha and the Omega,’ says the Lord God, ‘who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.'”

Psalm 27:13 NKJV“I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.”

John 20:29 NIV“Then Jesus told him, ‘Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.'”

Psalm 27:14 NIV“Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”

Hebrews 4:9-10 NIV“There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his.”

Setting the Stage:

Yesterday, I gave you 10 practical ways to overcome weariness. Today, I am giving you 10 more. This is the final message on Galatians 6:9 before we move to verse 10 on Monday. Before we leave this verse, I want to make sure you leave with a full toolbox.

Weariness will come knocking on the door of your heart. Waiting seasons are going to stretch longer than you want them to. Delays are going to test you. But nothing on that list is bigger than the grace God has already given you to walk it out. Here are the next 10 ways to overcome weariness. Pair these with yesterday’s 10, and you have 20 weapons for every long season of your life.

So, what does this mean for you today? A few things.

11. Stay Connected. Weariness Wants You Isolated.

— Ecclesiastes 4:10 says, “Pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.” Isolation is where weariness wins. Community is where it breaks. The three big things I tell you that you need are: 1: Identity (know who you are), 2: Purpose (know what you are called to do), and 3: Community (knowing who you are called to do it with!). If you have all three of these, you will be able to endure and overcome anything.

— When you are deeply tired, the enemy lures you to pull away from the very people who carry your fuel. Resist the pull. Text the friend. Show up at church. Call your pastor. Go to the men’s/women’s group meeting. Don’t allow yourself to stay in isolation. Isolation feeds weariness, but community will help you overcome it.

— The enemy hunts believers the same way a lion hunts antelope: he looks for the one who wandered off alone. Stay in the herd. There is safety in numbers.

12. Return To Your WHY.

— The prodigal son did not come home because he tried harder. He came home because he remembered. Who did God call you for? Why did He give you this vision? What are you on this planet to do?

— When you understand your WHY, you will be able to overcome the questions about your HOW LONG? Your calling was decided before the foundation of the world. You were sent to this planet for a reason. Just as long as you keep focusing on that, you will endure every season on the path to your destiny.

— Ask God to remind you about his purpose for your life. Once you start meditating on why you are on this planet, the temporary delays that you experience along the way don’t seem as significant.

— You will find strength when you meditate on God’s long-term vision for your life!

13. Refuse To Shrink The Vision.

— Weariness does not always make you quit. Sometimes it makes you negotiate the promise down to something your tired heart can manage.

— Caleb and Joshua saw the same land that the 10 fearful spies saw. The only difference was the size of their God. Because they believed in God, they refused to shrink the vision. And while they were both delayed for 40 years, because of the actions of others, after those 40 years, they did receive the vision.

— Go back to the ORIGINAL word, not the edited version you have been living with. The vision is still full-sized in heaven.

— Refuse to downsize the dream or to edit the vision, and never settle for anything less than God’s best.

14. Reject Self-Exclusion. You Are Not The Exception.

— Galatians 6:9 says “let US not grow weary.” That “us” is inclusive. It includes you.

— Weariness whispers, “God’s promises work for everyone else, but your situation is different.” That sounds humble, but it is based on doubt, supported by unbelief, and will eventually wind up in full-blown fear; the fear of missing out

— Jeremiah said, “I am too young.” God said, “Do not say that.” Never speak against the blessing, and never think that you are the one out of all the people in the world who will NOT be able to do what God said.

— Satan will lie to you and tell you that you’re disqualified because of what you’ve done. First of all, you can never be disqualified from something you never qualified for. Second of all, when you believe a lie, you empower the liar.

15. Keep Doing Good While You Wait.

— Weariness wants you to go quiet, go cold, or go cynical. Paul counters all of that with two words: doing good.

— You are not defined by how fast the door opens. You are defined by who you belong to. If you maintain your sense of belonging in God’s kingdom and in your community, you will keep showing up, and you’ll keep doing good.

— Let your habits preach when your feelings are tired. Good habits will keep you through the seasons when you just don’t feel like doing anything.

16. Release The Timeline To The Alpha And Omega.

— Revelation 1:8. God is the beginning and the end. He wrote the last page before you lived the first one.

— You are not at the mercy of the calendar. Your confidence is in the Author of it. Take the stopwatch out of your hand and put it back in His.

— God can compress in one day what you thought would take years. He can also stretch what you thought would take a moment, because He is building something inside the delay that instant delivery would have ruined.

— Simply put, you must learn to trust God’s time. Ecclesiastes 3:1 says that there’s a right time for everything, and everything on earth is going to happen at just the right time. You must meditate and believe in that.

17. Expect Harvest HERE, Not Just Hereafter.

— David wrote Psalm 27:13 while he was still alive: “I would have lost heart unless I had believed I would see the goodness of the Lord in the LAND OF THE LIVING.” Not in heaven. Here.

— Your eternal harvest is secured. But never lose hope for your harvest down here in this world. Both (your heaven-harvest and your here-harvest) are true, and they are yours!

— Do not let the enemy over-spiritualize you into a coma. God gave you a picture of your life here, not just a postcard from the afterlife.

18. Believe Before You See.

— Jesus said, “Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” That higher blessing is reserved for people who will not wait for the evidence before they trust.

— Faith believes before the breakthrough.

— Believe first. Your feelings will catch up to the faith, not the other way around.

19. Take Heart. It Is A Command, Not A Feeling.

— Psalm 27:14: “Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.” Get strong. Take courage. Those are commandments, not suggestions.

— Take heart is a command your emotions have to obey. Give the order. Speak courage over your own soul.

— 1 Samuel 30:6 says David encouraged himself in the Lord his God. If the greatest king of Israel had to encourage himself, so will you.

20. Rest In The Finished Work. IT’S ALREADY DONE!

— Hebrews 4 says there is a Sabbath-rest for the people of God. Stop sweating for what Jesus already secured.

— You are not working for a harvest that might come. You are walking out a harvest that is already scheduled. Your job is faithfulness. God’s job is timing.

— IT’S ALREADY DONE at the level that matters forever. This truth does not ignore your present pain. But it helps you endure and overcome it.

— The highest form of faith is REST!

That’s enough for today. On Monday, we move to Galatians 6:10.

Declaration of Faith:

Father, I thank You that weariness will not win in my life.

I stay connected in community, and I refuse to let isolation steal what You gave me.

I return to my WHY, and I remember who this is for and what is at stake.

I refuse to shrink the vision, and I reject every lie that says I am the exception to Your promises.

I keep doing good while I wait, because my identity is in Christ, not in my circumstances.

I release the timeline to You, the Alpha and Omega, and I trust the Author of my story.

I expect Your goodness in the land of the living, and I believe before I see.

I take heart by command, I speak courage over my own soul, and I wait on You actively.

I rest in the finished work of Jesus, because IT’S ALREADY DONE, and my harvest is scheduled.

I am living in THE YEAR OF DISCOVERY, I am living THE GRACE LIFE, and GREATER IS COMING FOR ME!

I declare this by faith. In Jesus’ name. Amen!

This is Today’s Word. Apply it and prosper!
