Grace in Galatians (Part 166): The Law God Will Never Break for You

Today, we continue our focus on THE YEAR OF DISCOVERY, as we learn to maintain our posture of faith after God has revealed His plans for our future.
As part of this series, I am teaching a verse-by-verse exposition of the book of Galatians.
Key scriptures for this year:
2 Peter 3:18 GNT
“But continue to grow in the grace and in the knowledge of our Savior, Jesus Christ. To Him be glory now and forever.”
Luke 10:20 Mirror
“It’s time for you to rediscover who you are from Heaven’s perspective.”
1 John 3:10 Mirror
“There is a very visible and vast difference between living one’s life from your God identity or from a fallen man’s mindset.”
Proverbs 25:2 NKJV
“It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, but the glory of kings is to search out a matter.”

Luke 6:38 NKJV
“Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”
Genesis 8:22 NKJV
“While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, and day and night shall not cease.”
Setting the Stage:
In Parts 164 and 165, we spent two full days in Galatians 6:6, the verse where Paul tells believers to share all good things with those who teach them the Word. We looked at how grace produces generosity, how partnership unlocks promises, and how the Philippians were the only church that invested in Paul’s ministry and received the greatest financial promise in the New Testament as a result. Now, Paul takes the principle even further.
In verse 7, Paul attaches a universal law to everything he just said. He says, “Make no mistake about it, God will never be mocked! For what you plant will always be the very thing you harvest.” This is not a new topic. This is the LAW that governs the PRINCIPLE he just taught in verse 6. Paul told you to share with your teacher. Now he is telling you WHY. Because sowing and reaping is not optional. It is not a nice idea. It is an unbreakable law that governs everything in God’s Kingdom and everything in your life. In THE YEAR OF DISCOVERY, discover that the law of sowing and reaping has been working in your life, whether you knew it or not. The question is not whether the law is active. The question is: what have you been planting?
So, what does this mean for you today? A few things.
1. “Do Not Be Deceived” Is a Warning Because Deception on This Topic Is Real.
Paul does not open with “do not be deceived” randomly. He uses that phrase because deception about sowing and reaping is one of the most common traps believers fall into. Some people believe they can consume from every ministry, take from every teacher, receive every blessing, and never sow a single seed back into the Kingdom. And then (here comes the deception), they still genuinely expect to receive a harvest.
Others believe that sowing and reaping only applies to other people, or that they are somehow the exception to the rule. They think they can make poor decisions and still have a great life. They know that many of the things that they’re doing are wrong, but they still expect God to bless them richly. It’s almost like they’re sowing apple seeds and they expect to reap oranges. Paul says, “Do not be deceived.” He is telling you to wake up. This law is active in your life right now, and it does not take a day off. Whatever you are planting today is already producing a harvest for tomorrow.
How this applies to you:
— Here is a hard truth that most people do not want to hear. Your life is the grand sum total of your decisions. Not your circumstances. Not your background. Not what other people did to you. Your decisions. Part of the deception that Satan uses is convincing you that bad things are happening to you because people are against you, the system is rigged, or God forgot about you. But often the reality is simpler than that. Bad things are happening because poor decisions were made, and the harvest is doing exactly what the seed told it to do.
— If you are not happy with your harvest, stop complaining about the crop and check your seed. You cannot plant anger and expect peace. You cannot plant dishonesty and expect trust. You cannot plant stinginess and expect abundance. If you want a different harvest, you need to sow different seed. That is not condemnation. That is the most liberating truth in the Kingdom, because it means you have the power to change your outcome by changing what you plant.
— Deception does not always look like a lie from the enemy. Sometimes deception is simply telling yourself that the rules do not apply to you. You hear the principle, you agree with it in theory, but you never act on it. Agreement without action is still deception.
— Some of you have been deceived into thinking that you can sow nothing and still reap something. That is not how the Kingdom works. A farmer who never plants a seed will never see a harvest, no matter how much he prays over empty ground.
— The phrase “do not be deceived” appears multiple times in the New Testament, and every time it appears, it addresses something that people commonly get wrong. Sowing and reaping is one of the most misunderstood and most ignored principles in the body of Christ.
— This warning is an act of grace. Paul is not trying to scare you. He is trying to protect you from the consequences of your own inaction.
— Religion deceives people into thinking that God will override their lack of sowing simply because He is gracious. God IS gracious, but His grace does not cancel His laws. Gravity is a law. You can pray all day long, but if you step off a building, you are coming down. Sowing and reaping works the same way.
— In THE YEAR OF DISCOVERY, discover that you have not been exempt from this law. You have been subject to it your entire life. The harvest you are experiencing right now, whether good or disappointing, is connected to something you planted in a previous season, and the harvest you will receive tomorrow is based on the seeds you sow today.
2. “God Is Not Mocked” Means the System Cannot Be Cheated.
The word “mocked” here carries the idea of turning up your nose at something, treating it with contempt, or thinking you are smarter than the system. Paul is saying you cannot outsmart God. You cannot find a loophole in the law of sowing and reaping. You cannot game the system. Some people try.
How this applies to you:
— You cannot mock the principle of Galatians 6:6 and then claim the promise of Philippians 4:19. The promise was written to the people who honored the principle. If you want the supply, you need to activate the sowing.
— “God is not mocked” means that God’s system is going to work whether you like it or not. His system is designed to respond to seed, and no amount of confession, prayer, or declaration will substitute for a seed that was never planted.
— Many Christians pray, decree, declare, and confess for abundance while sowing scarcity. You declare Philippians 4:19 over your finances, but have not sown into the ministries that teach you the Word. Paul is explaining that people who think this way are acting as if God’s laws do not apply to them.
— The ERV says, “You can’t cheat God.” That means there are no shortcuts. The harvest is real, but so is the requirement of the seed.
— Think about it this way. If you planted corn seeds, you would expect corn to grow. You would never plant corn and expect tomatoes. The system works with precision. What you put in is what comes out. God designed it that way, and He is not going to change the rules because you decided not to participate.
— In THE YEAR OF DISCOVERY, stop trying to find a workaround for sowing and reaping. There is no workaround. Embrace the law, plant your seed with faith, and watch God honor what you have honored.
3. What You Plant Is Always What You Harvest.
Paul says, “For what you plant will always be the very thing you harvest.” Always. Not sometimes. Not usually. Not when the economy cooperates. Always. This is a fixed law with a guaranteed outcome. If you plant generosity, you will harvest generosity. If you plant stinginess, you will harvest scarcity. If you plant friendliness, you will harvest friends. If you plant encouragement, you will harvest encouragement. If you plant criticism, you will harvest criticism. The seed always determines the crop. And notice that Paul does not say “what you INTEND to plant” or “what you WISH you had planted.” He says what you actually plant. Intentions do not produce harvests. Seeds do.
How this applies to you:
— If you have been sowing generously into the things of God, into ministries, into the lives of others, into the Kingdom, your harvest is guaranteed. It is not a question of IF. It is a question of WHEN. The law says “always,” and God’s laws do not fail.
— 2 Corinthians 9:6 is clear. A stingy sower gets a meager harvest. A generous sower gets an abundant harvest. The size of your harvest is connected to the size of your seed. In this way, you actually get to determine the size of your harvest by the size of your seed.
— The Philippians did not send Paul a card that said “thinking of you.” They sent Epaphroditus with tangible, material support. Real seed produces real fruit. Your generosity has to move from your heart to your hand for the law to work.
— In THE YEAR OF DISCOVERY, take inventory of what you have been planting. If your harvest has been disappointing, it may not be a God problem. It may be a seed problem. Change your seed, and you will change your harvest.
4. The Harvest Is Always Greater Than the Seed.
Here is the part that should excite every believer who has been faithfully sowing. The harvest is ALWAYS greater than the seed. No farmer plants one kernel of corn and expects one kernel in return. One seed of corn produces a stalk with multiple ears, and each ear contains hundreds of kernels. That is how God designed the system. It multiplies. When you sow a financial seed to support God’s plans and purposes in the earth, He gives you back good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over. This is from Luke 6:38. Let’s read this verse in the NLT. It reads, “Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.” That’s about as plain as I can make it.
How this applies to you:
— Genesis 8:22 says seedtime and harvest will never cease as long as the earth remains. That means the law is still active today. It was active yesterday. It will be active tomorrow. Your seed is working even when you cannot see it.
— The Philippians sowed material resources into Paul’s ministry. Paul prayed that God would supply ALL their need according to His riches in glory. The return was exponentially greater than the seed. That is how the Kingdom operates.
— If you have been faithful in your giving and you are waiting on your harvest, do not lose heart. 2 Corinthians 9:6 promises that the one who sows from a generous spirit will reap an abundant harvest. Not an average harvest. Not an adequate harvest. An abundant harvest.
— One of the greatest deceptions is quitting right before the harvest. That is something the Apostle Paul will address in verse 9 of Galatians 6. There, Paul encourages us. He says, “Don’t give up. You shall reap a harvest if you do not quit.”
— I will close with this thought. In Mark 4, Jesus described the Kingdom of God as a farmer who planted seed in the ground and then walked away. Night and day, whether the farmer was working or sleeping, the seed was working (growing). He could not see it. He could not feel it. But it was working under the surface the entire time. Then one day, it broke through the ground. That is how your seed works. If you have been sowing into the Kingdom, into ministries, into the lives of others, be confident today that your seed is working right now. You may not see the harvest yet, but God is not mocked. What you have sown, you are going to reap. The seed does not need your anxiety. It needs your patience. It is already doing what God designed it to do.
That’s enough for today.
Declaration of Faith:
Father, I am not deceived. The law of sowing and reaping is active in my life, and I embrace it!
My life is the grand sum total of my decisions, and from this day forward, I choose to sow differently!
God is not mocked. His system responds to seed, and I am planting with faith, purpose, and expectation!
I will not confess abundance while sowing scarcity. My mouth and my hands will agree!
What I plant is what I harvest. Always. I am planting generosity, and generosity is coming back to me!
If I do not like my harvest, I will check my seed. The power to change my outcome is in my hands!
My seed is working right now, even while I sleep, even when I cannot see it. The Kingdom operates on my behalf!
I refuse to quit before the harvest. I will not dig up my seed with doubt or impatience!
My harvest is always greater than my seed. God does not match what I give. He multiplies it!
I am living in THE YEAR OF DISCOVERY, and I have discovered the law God will never break. I sow in faith, I reap in abundance, and GREATER IS COMING FOR ME!
I declare this by faith. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
This is Today’s Word. Apply it and prosper!
