Today, we continue our focus on “THE YEAR OF DISCOVERY,” as we learn to maintain our posture of faith after God has revealed His plans for our future.

But we are also doing something different. I am going back to the “Grace in Galatians” series. This is a series where we were doing a verse-by-verse exposition of the book of Galatians. We are going back to this powerful letter today, and we will continue this study until we finish EVERY SINGLE VERSE. However, as we dive back in, I am mindful that we are in THE YEAR OF DISCOVERY. Discovery is not about human research; it is about divine revelation. It is about the Father pulling back the veil so you can see what He has already provided by grace. And as we will see in today’s text, the Holy Spirit is the key to that DISCOVERY.

Key scriptures for this year:

2 Peter 3:18 GNT

“But continue to grow in the grace and in the knowledge of our Savior, Jesus Christ. To Him be glory now and forever.”

Luke 10:20 Mirror

“It’s time for you to rediscover who you are from Heaven’s perspective.”

1 John 3:10 Mirror

“There is a very visible and vast difference between living one’s life from your God identity or from a fallen man’s mindset.”

Proverbs 25:2 NKJV

“It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, but the glory of kings is to search out a matter.”

Jeremiah 29:13 NIV

“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”

Scripture we will study today:

Galatians 5:16-18 TPT

“As you yield freely and fully to the dynamic life and power of the Holy Spirit, you will abandon the cravings of your self-life. For your self-life craves the things that offend the Holy Spirit and hinder him from living free within you! And the Holy Spirit’s intense cravings are incompatible with the self-life. They are opposed to each other like two kings battling for a kingdom. But when you are brought into the full freedom of the Spirit of Grace, you will no longer be living under the domination of the law, but soaring above it!”

Galatians 5:16-18 ERV

“So I tell you: Live by following the Spirit. Then you will not do what your sinful selves want. Our sinful selves want what is against the Spirit, and the Spirit wants what is against our sinful selves. The two are against each other, so you cannot do just what you please. But if you let the Spirit lead you, you are not under the law.”

Setting the Stage:

We are picking up the series in Galatians 5, where Paul contrasts the Spirit and the flesh. To live #TheGraceLife, you must move beyond the “information” of the Bible and into the REVELATION of the Spirit. In this YEAR OF DISCOVERY, the Father wants to reveal things to you that your natural eyes cannot see and your natural ears cannot hear.

The Holy Spirit is the “Master of Discovery.” He doesn’t just give you a set of rules to follow; He provides a REVELATION of who you are and what God has already done. When the Father speaks a word over your life, the Holy Spirit is the one who helps you DISCOVER the depth of that word so you can walk it out by faith.

So, what does this mean for you today? A few things.

1. Discovery Happens When You Yield to the Spirit’s Frequency.

Paul tells us to “yield freely and fully” to the Holy Spirit. In this YEAR OF DISCOVERY, you must realize that revelation from the Father is constantly being “broadcast,” but you will only DISCOVER it when you are tuned in to the Spirit. The Spirit is the one who searches the deep things of God and reveals them to us.

How this applies to you:

— You don’t have to beg the Father for revelation; you just have to yield to the Spirit who carries it.

— God is always speaking. Discovery is about hearing what God is saying today, not just reading what He said in the past.

The Bible contains what God said, but while you read the Bible (what God said), the Holy Spirit can speak to you and reveal to you what He is saying based on what He has already said.

— When you yield, the Holy Spirit highlights the Father’s plans for your specific situation. And the text is clear that when we are led by the Holy Spirit, we will not do what our sinful selves want. We will live a life that is pleasing in His sight because we are being directed by His Spirit.

— Since the Apostle Paul is making a clear contrast between the life of the Spirit and your “self-life” in this passage, I want to point out that your “self-life” acts as static that prevents you from DISCOVERING the clear voice of God. In other words, God gave you a spirit, but if your mind is not renewed, you’re going to constantly yearn for and seek after things that are contrary to the Spirit of God. If you don’t address the issue of mind renewal (through the Word of God), then you will experience a constant battle between the Holy Spirit and your “self-life.”

— I told you a few messages ago from John 15:7 that we can actually grow to the point through the word of God where our desires are actually God’s desires, and that is what we want to get to because at that point, Jesus said we can ask for whatever we want.

— The Father wants to show you Kingdom secrets, but they are only discovered through spiritual submission. You want to die to self and submit to the Holy Spirit so strongly that there’s nothing blocking your heart from hearing His voice.

— This year, make “Holy Spirit, I yield” a primary prayer so you don’t miss a single discovery of what God wants to reveal to you.

— Revelation is a gift of grace, but it requires a yielding heart (notice I said yielding and not just yielded; because this is something you must do constantly), to be discovered and received.

2. The Holy Spirit Leads You to Discover Your True Identity.

Paul says the Spirit and the flesh are like two kings battling for a kingdom. The battle is over who you believe you are! In this YEAR OF DISCOVERY, the Holy Spirit wants to give you a REVELATION of your sonship. When you DISCOVER who the Father says you are, the “cravings of the self-life” lose their appeal because they no longer fit your new identity.

How this applies to you:

— You will never outperform your discovery of who you are in Christ. If you don’t know who you are, you’ll spend your whole life trying to become something you already are.

— The Holy Spirit is constantly trying to help you DISCOVER that you are already righteous and already holy; not because of what you’ve done, but because of what Jesus did FOR you. Religion says earn it; grace says it’s already done. This is critical because, like I said in the first bullet, your outward performance is fueled by your inner reality. So once you believe that you’re righteous, you will live righteously.

— When the Father looks at you, He sees Jesus, and the Spirit helps you DISCOVER that same perspective. Most believers are walking around defined by their mistakes, but the Holy Spirit wants to give you the Father’s view of who you really are. He wants you to believe what He believes about you so you can get past your faults, flaws, and failures.

— Discovery of your true identity removes the pressure to perform for God’s approval. Performance-based Christianity is exhausting, but identity-based living is liberating!

— You are not a “sinner saved by grace”; you are a son of God discovering your inheritance! The moment you got Born-Again, you didn’t just get a new label; you got a new nature.

— The more you DISCOVER your value in God’s eyes, the less you will seek validation from the world. When the Holy Spirit reveals that you were chosen before the foundation of the world, the world’s opinion loses its grip on you. In other words, you will never seek validation from the world when you know that God has already put His stamp of approval on you.

— Make this the year you stop settling for a limited view of yourself and let the Spirit show you who you really are!

3. Discovery Empowers You to Soar Above Natural Limitations.

Paul describes a life that is “soaring above” the Law. This is a life of supernatural DISCOVERY. This YEAR OF DISCOVERY is about finding the “higher way” that the Father has prepared for you.

How this applies to you:

— Revelation from the Spirit gives you an unfair advantage in the marketplace and in ministry. While everyone else is operating by human reasoning, you have access to the mind of Christ. You can literally soar in life.

— When you DISCOVER God’s way of doing things, you stop struggling with the world’s way. You stop trying to force doors open because the Spirit shows you the doors God already opened for you.

— The Father has “soaring” assignments for you that your flesh could never imagine. That’s why you can’t figure out your destiny with your natural mind; it has to be discovered through the Spirit. What God planned for you is literally more than you can imagine (Eph 3:20).

— Discovery is the key to operating in the supernatural as if it were natural. The more you yield to the Spirit’s revelation, the more God’s way becomes your normal way of living. In other words, God wants the supernatural to become natural to you.

— Don’t settle for “common” results when the Spirit is inviting you to DISCOVER uncommon grace. God didn’t save you to live an average life; He saved you to soar above every limitation the enemy tries to put on you.

— As you soar, your perspective changes, and the Holy Spirit gives you a perspective that makes your problems look small.

4. The Year of Discovery is a Year of Constant “Downloads” from Heaven.

In Galatians 5:18, Paul says, “if you let the Spirit lead you.” Leading requires constant communication. Discovery is not a one-time event; it is a lifestyle of receiving REVELATION from the Father through the Holy Spirit. This year, expect to DISCOVER strategies, solutions, and strength every single day!

How this applies to you:

— The Holy Spirit is your Internal Consultant, always ready to provide a fresh download of wisdom. You don’t need to schedule an appointment; He’s available 24/7 and He already knows what you need before you ask.

— You must develop a sensitivity to the “divine promptings” of the Holy Spirit to discover your next move. God is not going to shout over the noise of your busy life; you have to learn to recognize His voice in the everyday moments.

— The Father’s Word is the WILL of God on paper, but the Holy Spirit’s voice is the Will of God in your ear. Both work together; one confirms the other, and neither will ever contradict the other.

— Revelation often comes in the “still small voice,” so you must quiet your flesh to hear it. If your life is full of noise, distractions, and the demands of your self-life, you’ll miss the very downloads Heaven is trying to send you.

— When you live led by the Spirit, your life becomes a continuous journey of discovery! Every day becomes an adventure because you never know what the Holy Spirit is going to reveal next.

That’s enough for today.

Declaration of Faith:

Father, I thank You for bringing me back to the book of Galatians in this Year of Discovery!

I declare that my heart is open to receive fresh REVELATION from You today and every day.

Holy Spirit, I yield freely and fully to You; I tune my heart to Your frequency to DISCOVER the Father’s voice.

I am not limited to human information; I live by divine REVELATION that comes from Your throne.

I am DISCOVERING my true identity as a son of God, and I refuse to live like a slave to the flesh.

I win the battle for my mind because the Holy Spirit is helping me DISCOVER Your thoughts and Your ways.

I am soaring above the Law and natural limitations because I am acting on the DISCOVERIES You are giving me!

I expect supernatural “downloads” of wisdom, strategy, and power in every meeting and conversation.

I am living the Grace Life, I am walking in the Spirit, and GREATER IS DISCOVERED FOR ME!

I declare this by faith. In Jesus’ name. Amen!

This is Today’s Word. Apply it and prosper!
