Today, we continue our series entitled “Living the Grace Life,” where we will learn to embrace and walk in God’s unmerited, unearned, and often undeserved favor throughout 2025.

As part of this series, I am teaching a verse-by-verse exposition of the book of Galatians.

Key scriptures for this year:

(2 Corinthians 9:8 TPT)

"Yes, God is more than ready to overwhelm you with every form of grace, so that you will have more than enough of everything—every moment and in every way. He will make you overflow with abundance in every good thing you do."

(Galatians 5:4 TPT)

"If you want to be made right with God by fulfilling the obligations of the law, you have cut off more than your flesh—you have cut yourselves off from Christ and have fallen away from the revelation of grace!"

(Romans 6:14 ERV)

"Sin will not be your master, because you are not under law. You now live under God's grace."

(1 Corinthians 15:10 CEV)

"But God treated me with undeserved grace! He made me what I am, and his grace wasn't wasted. I worked much harder than any of the other apostles, although it was really God's grace at work and not me."

Scripture we will study today:

(Galatians 3:20 NLT)

“Now a mediator is helpful if more than one party must reach an agreement. But God, who is one, did not use a mediator when he gave his promise to Abraham.”

Supporting scriptures:

(Romans 4:13 TPT)

“For the promise given to Abraham and his descendants, that he would inherit the world, did not come through the law but through the righteousness of faith.”

(Genesis 15:6 TPT)

“Then Abram believed the Lord, and the Lord declared him righteous because of his faith.”

(2 Timothy 1:9 TPT)

“For God has saved us and chose us to live a holy life. He did this, not because we deserved it, but because of his grace. This grace was given to us through Christ Jesus before time began.”

(1 John 5:11-12 TPT)

“And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is found in his Son. The one who has the Son has the life. The one who does not have the Son of God does not have this life.”

Setting the Stage:

Yesterday, we discovered that God’s promise to Abraham was made DIRECTLY, without any intermediary. But here’s something equally important: God’s promise was also SIMPLE. Religious people overcomplicate things.

The Law brought complexity: hundreds of rules, regulations, rituals, and requirements. You had to keep track of feast days, purification protocols, temple procedures, priestly orders, and endless ordinances. For example, when a woman had her normal monthly menstrual cycle, she was separated and considered unclean for seven days! Everything she sat on or laid on became unclean. Anyone who touched her became unclean until evening.

Furthermore, if her bleeding continued beyond her regular period or happened at the wrong time, then AFTER it stopped, she had to count seven more days, and on the eighth day bring two turtledoves or two young pigeons to the priest for sin and burnt offerings! (Leviticus 15:19-30). That’s the complexity of the Law! Even natural biological functions required tracking, separation, and in some cases, priestly intervention and sacrifices!

But grace? Grace is simple: believe and receive! That’s all Abraham had! You don’t need complicated rituals, endless regulations, or religious gymnastics. You don’t need to track your performance or measure your worthiness. God said it, you believe it, and that settles it! The promise is accessed by faith alone!

The Apostle Paul spent much of his ministry fighting against those who wanted to COMPLICATE grace by adding the Law back into it. But grace doesn’t need improvement. Grace is complete. Grace is sufficient. And grace is simple.

So, what does this mean for you today? A few things.

1. God’s Promise Requires Faith, Not Performance.

The Law demanded performance. The Law said, “Do this, then this, then this, and if you do it all perfectly, God might bless you.” It was a works-based system built on human effort. But the promise said, “Simply believe.” When Abraham heard God’s promise, he didn’t ask for a rulebook or a checklist. He simply BELIEVED God, and that belief activated the entire promise! This is the radical difference between Law and grace. Grace doesn’t require you to perform; grace requires you to believe!

How this applies to you:

— You don’t have to earn God’s blessing through years of spiritual discipline or religious performance. Grace says, “God has already decided to bless you. Now believe it!” Your job is not to work yourself into worthiness; your job is to believe you’re already worthy through Christ!

— Stop trying to be “good enough” for God to answer your prayers. Religious thinking teaches that “God helps those who help themselves,” but grace teaches that God helps those who BELIEVE!

— When you face a challenge, you don’t need to figure out the perfect spiritual formula or perform the right religious action. What you need is to BELIEVE that God has already provided the answer! Your access point to your breakthrough is your belief, not your behavior!

— In your career and finances, don’t think you have to scheme or manipulate to get ahead. Just believe God! When you exercise faith in God as your source, and you do (with your finances) whatever He leads you to do, then you will experience overflow and abundance. Don’t overcomplicate it. Just believe!

— When dealing with guilt over past mistakes, you don’t have to perform penance or endless spiritual works to earn forgiveness. Grace says God forgave you when you believed in Jesus. Period. No performance required. No extra spiritual activity needed to restore what Christ already restored!

— Throughout your day, let go of the pressure to “do enough” spiritually. Prayer doesn’t require perfect words. Fasting doesn’t require suffering. Worship doesn’t require emotional displays. Grace makes serving God simple: just BELIEVE that you’re accepted, loved, and blessed through Christ, and your actions will naturally flow from that belief!

2. Complexity Creates Doubt; Simplicity Releases Faith.

When something is too complicated, your mind questions whether you’re doing it right. The Law was so complex that people constantly wondered if they were keeping it correctly. The more complicated a system becomes, the more room there is for doubt to creep in. But when God’s promise is presented in its pure, simple form—”Believe and receive”—faith flows easily!

How this applies to you:

— When your faith feels weak, it might be because you’ve complicated God’s promise with too many conditions. Remove the complexity! God said He would bless you. That’s it. That’s the entire promise. Don’t add “as long as you…” or “if you can just…” Believe the simple promise as stated!

— In relationships, stop trying to earn love through complicated emotional performances. Healthy relationships are built on simple trust. When you believe that someone loves you, you can relax and be yourself. The same is true with God. When you believe He loves you, the pressure to perform disappears!

— Many churches and religious movements have complicated grace by adding requirements that God never made. They’ve turned blessing into a complex formula that leaves people perpetually confused.

— It’s hard to have JOY and PEACE when you are confused. But when you accept the simplicity of the Gospel, you can rest!

— In your prayer life, don’t overcomplicate your approach to God. You don’t need to pray with perfect theology or use certain phrases. You don’t need to pray in a specific location or at a specific time. Just talk to God like you’d talk to someone you trust. Simplicity in prayer opens heaven!

— When receiving God’s promise for healing, provision, or breakthrough, resist the urge to create a complicated plan to make it happen. You don’t need 12 steps to healing, or 7 steps to prayer. Just pray in accordance with God’s will and believe you receive when you pray.

— Stop making your faith journey harder than it needs to be. Some believers burden themselves with endless rules: “I can’t do this,” “I must do that,” “– “But grace says just BELIEVE and walk in freedom! You’re not disqualified by being imperfect; you’re qualified by believing in Jesus!

— The simpler your faith, the stronger your confidence. Complex faith systems leave room for doubt and questions. But simple faith, like: “God said it, I believe it, therefore it’s done,“ creates unwavering confidence in what God promised!

3. God Sealed His Promise With His Own Character, Not Your Goodness.

When God made the promise to Abraham, He didn’t base it on Abraham’s perfection. Abraham lied about his wife. Abraham had a child through a slave woman out of wedlock, and because of impatience. But through it all, Abraham wasn’t qualified by his righteousness; he was qualified by his faith!

How this applies to you:

— Your blessing doesn’t rest on your moral perfection because God’s promise was never based on your perfection. It was based on God’s character. So even when you stumble, fall short, or make mistakes, the promise remains intact because it’s sealed by God’s integrity, not yours!

— You can move forward boldly even after failure. The Law said one violation meant disqualification. But grace says God made a promise sealed by His character, and your one mistake does not invalidate His integrity. God is faithful even when you’re unfaithful!

— In seasons when you feel spiritually weak or doubtful, remember that God’s promise doesn’t depend on your strength. It depends on HIS strength. Your weakness doesn’t cancel what God sealed with His own name.

— When the enemy whispers that you’re too bad or too broken for God to bless you, remind yourself that God made a promise to you and He sealed it with His character. And God made the promise, FULLY AWARE of every dumb thing you would ever do!

4. When You Stop Trying to Improve Grace, Grace Begins to Improve You.

This is the paradox that Paul fought throughout Galatians. The Judaizers wanted to ADD the Law to grace. They wanted to IMPROVE grace by making it more rigorous, more demanding, more disciplined. But grace doesn’t need improvement. The moment you try to enhance grace with human performance, you’ve destroyed grace! Grace is complete in itself.

The paradox is this: you don’t transform yourself into righteousness; righteousness transforms you!

How this applies to you:

— Your sanctification (becoming more like Christ) doesn’t happen through your effort to be good. It happens through your acceptance that you already ARE righteous in Christ. You learn to live in the reality of who you already are!

— Stop measuring your spiritual growth by how much you’re DOING. The more you do, the more you’re depending on works instead of grace. Real growth happens when you do LESS striving and MORE believing.

— Recognize that God doesn’t improve you by making demands. God improves you by flooding your life with His love, acceptance, and grace. When you know you’re fully accepted, you naturally want to become better. You’re motivated by love, not fear of rejection!

— Many believers sabotage their own breakthrough by trying to earn what grace freely gives. They think, “God will help me if I pray enough, fast enough, serve enough…” But grace says, “God has already helped you. Now stop trying to earn it and RECEIVE it!” The moment you shift from earning to receiving, the change you are looking for will manifest in and through you.

— The deepest transformation in your life will happen when you give up trying to transform yourself. Paradoxically, the moment you surrender the struggle and receive grace as complete, the Holy Spirit begins reshaping your character, your thoughts, and your desires. Grace does what your effort never could!

That's enough for today.

Declaration of Faith:

Father, I thank You for making Your promises simple. They only require my faith!

I stop trying to earn what grace freely gives and simply RECEIVE!

Your promise was sealed by Your character, not by my performance!

Your Word is backed by Your name and integrity!

The complexity is removed from my spiritual life, and now my faith flows easily!

My blessing doesn’t depend on my perfection; it depends on Your faithfulness!

I walk in the simplicity and power of grace today!

I am Living the Grace Life, and GREATER IS COMING FOR ME!

I declare this by faith. In Jesus’ name. Amen!

This is Today’s Word. Apply it and prosper!
