Discovering Destiny (Part 53): Your Destiny Comes With The Grace To Do It
Today, we continue our focus on THE YEAR OF DISCOVERY, as we learn to maintain our posture of faith after God has revealed His plans for our future.

Setting the Stage:
Yesterday, we watched Joseph leave the palace and go straight to work. Today, I want to go back a few hours and look at the morning it all started. Joseph woke up in prison. By the afternoon, he was running Egypt. In between, he shaved, changed out of his prison clothes, stood before the most powerful man on earth, and told him what his dreams meant. Pharaoh turned to his officials and asked, "Where can we find anyone else like this one, for he has the Spirit of God in him!" Then he turned back to Joseph and said, "I hereby place you in charge of all my affairs, and all my people will obey your commands."
Now think about the resume Joseph brought into that room. He was a shepherd's son from Canaan. He was sold at 17. He spent 13 years in Egypt, and most of those years he was property or a prisoner. He had run Potiphar's house, and he had run the warden's prison, but he had never run a country. He had never sat in a royal court. He had never addressed a nation. He had never managed an economy. He did not have a dime to his name. There had to be a moment that night when Joseph looked at the ring on his finger and thought, "Lord, I have never done this before."
Then look at what he did. He did not freeze. He did not ask Pharaoh for a year of training. The Bible says, "Leaving Pharaoh's presence, Joseph traveled throughout the entire land of Egypt." He walked into rooms full of officials who had served the throne for decades, and they took orders from a 30-year-old Hebrew who had been in chains a week earlier. He built storehouses in every city, and he never paid for one of them. He made decisions for a nation, and the decisions were right. The grace was already on him.
Here is what I want you to see today. Pharaoh did not promote Joseph because of his experience. He promoted him because of the Spirit of God in him, and he said it plainly: "There is no one as wise and full of insight as you." The God who wrote Joseph's destiny before he was born also supplied the resources and the wisdom to walk it out. Destiny and grace arrive together.
So, what does this mean for you today? A few things.
1. God Promoted Joseph Into A Job He Had Never Done.
Pharaoh asked one question before he handed Joseph the country: "Where can we find anyone else like this one, for he has the Spirit of God in him!" He did not ask about Joseph's education, his references, or his years of government service. Joseph had none of that. What Pharaoh saw was God on the man, and that settled it. Joseph walked out of that room with a job he had never done and the grace to do it.
How this applies to you:
-- God does not call the qualified; He qualifies the called.
-- Pharaoh looked for one qualification, and it was not on Joseph's record. It was the Spirit of God on Joseph's life.
-- Your resume outlines your history, but it cannot limit your destiny.
-- Joseph had run a household and a prison, but nothing in his background said prime minister. God did not promote him to the job he was trained for. God promoted him to the job he was destined for.
-- Before Joseph was born, God planned this day, and He planned the grace to go with it. Your inexperience did not surprise the God who wrote your destiny before you were born.
-- Some of you are disqualifying yourselves from things God never disqualified you from. Stop telling God what you have never done. If God called you to it, you are qualified for it!
2. If It Is His Will, It Is His Bill.
I have said it many times: God calls you to do things you cannot do without Him. That is by design, because if you could do it on your own, you would not need Him. So when the assignment costs more than what is sitting in your bank account, you do not quit. If it is His will, it is His bill. Joseph was handed a national building program: storehouses in every city, grain beyond measure, and overseers across the land. He did not raise a dime of it, because the throne that gave him the assignment funded the assignment. Paul said, "God is able to make all grace (every favor and earthly blessing) come to you in abundance" (2 Corinthians 9:8 AMPC). Grace is not only the power to do the work; grace is the provision for the work.
How this applies to you:
-- If it is His will, it is His bill!
-- God calls you to things that cost more than you have. If you could fund it yourself, you would not need faith for it.
-- Your bank account is not the measure of your destiny.
-- Joseph never paid for a single storehouse. The same Pharaoh who gave him the assignment put the wealth of Egypt behind it.
-- Paul said, "this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches" (Philippians 4:19 NLT). Your paycheck is not your source; His glorious riches are.
-- Stop aborting what God put in your heart because you cannot see the money yet.
-- God planned your destiny before you were born, and He planned the provision for it at the same time. The call creates the supply.
3. The Same Grace That Pays The Bill Releases The Wisdom.
If that is true for money, and it is true, it is also true for wisdom. God does not only call you to do things you do not have the money to do. He calls you to do things you have never done before. You do not have the experience, the past performance, the resume, or the education. Simply put, you do not have the wisdom. Joseph did not have it either, and yet Pharaoh looked at him and said, "There is no one as wise and full of insight as you." Where does a prisoner get the wisdom to run an empire? God gave it to him. There is a grace on your life, not just to get the money, but to tap into the wisdom too.
How this applies to you:
-- There is a level of wisdom God releases that is connected to your destiny and your purpose.
-- James wrote, "if anyone longs to be wise, ask God for wisdom and he will give it!" (James 1:5 TPT). God does not scold you for what you lack; He fills what you lack.
-- God's wisdom will take you where your education cannot.
-- When God needed a tabernacle built, He did not go looking for a builder with a portfolio. He filled Bezalel "with the Spirit of God, giving him great wisdom, ability, and expertise in all kinds of crafts" (Exodus 31:3 NLT). The skill came with the assignment.
-- You may have a lack of experience, but God can rectify that with a measure of His grace.
-- I cannot tell you how many times I have felt unqualified, unprepared, and halfway terrified, only to have God fill my mouth with His wisdom. He has given me wisdom that exceeds my education and experience, and He will do the same for you.
-- God told Jeremiah, "I had divine plans for you before I gave you life" (Jeremiah 1:5 TPT). The God who planned your destiny already planned the wisdom you will need to fulfill it.
4. Grace Did The Heavy Lifting, But Joseph Still Showed Up.
Yesterday, we said grace is not a license for laziness. Today, I want you to see the other side of that coin. Joseph did not have the experience, but he had the grace, and he put that grace to work. Paul said the same thing about his own life: "I worked harder than all the rest, yet not in my own strength but God's, for his empowering grace is poured out upon me" (1 Corinthians 15:10 TPT). Paul worked, and grace did the heavy lifting.
How this applies to you:
-- Grace empowers you for work; it does not exonerate you from work.
-- Joseph showed up, and grace showed out. God supplies the grace, and He looks to you to supply the willingness.
-- Paul said, "God's amazing grace has made me who I am!" Then he said he worked harder than all the rest. Grace made Paul who he was, and grace made Paul work.
-- God brings the grace; you bring the willingness.
-- Paul told the Philippians, "it is God who is working in you. He helps you want to do what pleases him, and he gives you the power to do it" (Philippians 2:13 ERV). God gives you the desire and the power, but you still have to move.
-- Joseph did not have the experience, but he had the willingness to show up.
-- Some of you are waiting for God to do what He already gave you the grace to do. Grace is not a substitute for obedience; it is the power behind it.
-- Joseph walked out his destiny one city, one harvest, and one official at a time. Destiny set the direction, grace supplied the money and the wisdom, and Joseph supplied the steps.
