Priorities

This morning, we continue our series on “The Parables of Jesus.” We will seek to glean “Pearls from the Parables.” Before we get to the parable, let’s look at a scripture we have been looking at all year. This is something I believe the Lord wants us to meditate on.

This morning we continue our series entitled “Leveling Up with the Word!” We have been looking at the parable of the sower. Let’s get back to it today.

Other people are like the seed planted on rocky ground. They hear the teaching, and they quickly and gladly accept it. But they don’t allow it to go deep into their lives. They keep it only for a short time. As soon as trouble or persecution comes because of the teaching they accepted, they give up.

This morning we continue our series entitled “Leveling Up with the Word!” We have been looking at the parable of the sower. Let’s get back to it today.

In this parable, one of the underlying messages Jesus teaches us is about receiving God’s Word and then allowing the Word to be so settled in our hearts that it is free to grow and produce fruit.

They hear the teaching and accept it. Then they grow and produce a good crop—sometimes 30 times more, sometimes 60 times more, and sometimes 100 times more.” I will continue to focus on the line, “the worries of this life.” Other translations read, “the cares of this world.” Let’s get into it.

I will teach about each of these in the days to come. For today, please consider these three categories and search your heart concerning them. It is time for us to uproot every weed that keeps the Word from working in our lives!

This type of person is a perfect example of why a series like this is so important. God wants your focus. God wants to be your highest priority. God wants to produce a 100 fold harvest in and through your life.

This morning we continue our “Unlocking the Power of Proverbs – Walking in the Wisdom of God” series. In this verse Solomon goes back to a reoccurring theme in scripture: the fear of the Lord. While this may be a theme in scripture, it does not seem to be mentioned much today.

(Prov 27:25-27 GNB) You cut the hay and then cut the grass on the hillsides while the next crop of hay is growing. You can make clothes from the wool of your sheep and buy land with the money you get from selling some of your goats. The rest of the goats will provide milk for you and your family, and for your servant women as well.
